This Privacy Policy explains how Stephen Paul Booth Milden dba Buildin' With Milden, a sole proprietorship operated by Stephen Milden ("we," "us," or "our"), collects, uses, and protects information when you visit buildinwithmilden.com (the "Site") or contact us about our construction services (The Workshop) or web services (The Studio). This single policy applies to both sides of our business.

1. Who we are

2. Information we collect

Information you give us. When you submit our contact form, project intake form, or otherwise reach out, we may collect:

  • Your name and the name of your business;
  • Contact details (email address, phone number, and any messaging handles you provide such as WhatsApp, Telegram, or Signal);
  • Details about your project (goals, scope, timeline, budget range, location, and similar information);
  • Any files, images, plans, or documents you choose to upload or send.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, our hosting provider's servers may automatically log standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type, device information, referring page, and the date/time of your visit, for security and operational purposes. Google Analytics may add a cookie notice/consent mechanism as required by applicable law.

AI voice assistant. The Studio pages may offer an AI voice assistant. If you choose to use it, your spoken audio and a text transcript of the conversation are processed to generate replies, and we may review transcripts to improve the assistant (see Section 6). Using the assistant is optional, and you should not share passwords or payment details with it.

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal information, and we ask that you not send payment card numbers or government identification through the Site's forms.

3. How we use your information

We use the information to:

  • Respond to your inquiry and communicate with you;
  • Prepare estimates, proposals, and agreements;
  • Provide, manage, and improve our services;
  • Maintain the security and proper operation of the Site;
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

4. Uploaded files

Files submitted through the project intake form are stored on our hosting provider's server in a protected folder, are used solely to understand and quote your project, and are automatically deleted after 30 days. You may also request deletion at any time (see Section 9).

5. How we share information

We share information only as needed to run our business and only with:

  • Service providers who help us operate our business and provide services (see Section 6). Professionals and subcontractors directly involved in delivering your project, where relevant and on a need-to-know basis;
  • Authorities or others when required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

6. Third-party services and channels

We rely on a small number of third-party providers and communication channels. Each handles your information under its own terms, and some are located outside Ecuador (see Section 10, International users):

  • Hosting (Namecheap). The Site, form submissions, and uploaded files are hosted on Namecheap's servers, which store and process that data on our behalf, including standard server logs.
  • AI voice assistant (ElevenLabs). If you use the assistant on The Studio pages, your audio and conversation transcript are processed by ElevenLabs, Inc. (United States) to generate replies; we may review transcripts to improve it. It never needs, and you should never give it, passwords or payment details.
  • Messaging apps (WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal). If you contact us through any of these apps, your messages are also handled by that platform under its own privacy policy, which we do not control.
  • Analytics (Google Analytics), where enabled. Helps us understand how the Site is used and may set a cookie subject to a consent mechanism where required by law.

7. Data retention

We keep project inquiries and related communications for as long as needed to serve you and for a reasonable period afterward for our records, unless a longer period is required by law. Uploaded files follow the 30-day rule in Section 4. Assistant transcripts are kept only as long as needed to operate and improve the assistant.

8. Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your information, including a protected uploads folder and secure (TLS/HTTPS) transmission. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Your rights and choices

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to object to or restrict certain processing. To make a request, email stephen@buildinwithmilden.com. We will respond within the time required by applicable law.

10. International users

We are based in Ecuador. If you contact us from another country, your information will be processed in Ecuador and wherever our service providers operate (including the United States, for the services named in Section 6), which may have different data-protection laws than your own.

11. Children's privacy

The Site and our services are not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date above reflects the most recent version, and material changes will be posted on this page.
